UPDATE: We Are Having A Happy Hour
sweet tea
since none of you clowns on the other thread seem to be able to get this going....
let's see if there's interest in a day, then we can set a reasonably central PH/PS location, 'kay?
i haven't seen most of you yahoos in *ever*.
UPDATE: We will have an hour (or more!) of happiness at Sharlene's (on Flatbush) this Sunday afternoon.
Those of you who voted for Friday and Saturday should please also meet on those days, for happy hour preparation and committee work of all kinds.
Those of you who voted for "never; I hate you all" should carry on.
Now: What time shall we gather? And what is the best food to carry in?

mougarI think this thread is premature. We should really have a sub-thread meeting first to discuss the cost/benefits to staging a vote at this time, and then present our findings to the steering committee in the original thread so they can vote on when we should vote. Cuz yo dawg ... -
whynot_31Mougar, for best results, this event may require drinking beforehand.
Please make sure this suggestion is addressed by the sub-thread, as well as the steering committee. We will need to approve the minutes of the various meetings, before we can have an additional meeting.
Did anyone take minutes at the last event? -
carnivoreI vote for "not Friday." -
MODSharlene's Sunday Afternoon, with fried shrimp and avo sandwiches, cubanos and Albaz cheesesteaks!
Carmen has that day off? Yo Prostitution whore, you in?? -
whynot_31Mamacita wrote: Yo, Prostitution whore
I was going to alert the mods about this name calling, but then I realized that the term actually cancels itself out.
As I define the terms, I believe a prostitute charges money, whereas a whore is free.
So by using these terms together, I believe Mamacita is alleging that Carmen is the type of woman who will not engage in sex for free, or for money. Therefore, (like most women) she must be romanced before she will put out.
Carry on. -
sweet tea1. maybe you work for free, but most whores charge.
2. i am very much liking the bold specificity of mamacita's plan...especially if yuca can be added to that list.... -
whynot_31I will refrain from asking why you are so confident "most whores charge", but trust that you know about what you speak. -

one likes to keep current, you know. -
whyfiI think that plans for a happy hour should be discussed while doing two laps of Prospect Park. Who will start the thread for the ride to discuss the thread for the happy hour? -
sweet teaokay, so at the moment the poll indicates that we should have a happy hour every day this weekend and also never.
anyone besides mamacita have a specific plan in mind? -
whynot_31I love the anarchy that democracy creates. -
carnivoreSunday afternoon is good for me. -

Everyday HH is tempting.
I like Sharlene's cuz it's not usually crowded and very close to noms.
I can come out and play on Sunday afternoon, too. -
christinaSunday is perfect. This could be a lunch and dinner event, that way we don't have to pick just one food spot ;-) -
whynot_31I also vote for Sunday. Because we are presently winning, let's quickly declare an end to this silly exercise in democracy: -
stewartyes, before the Tea Party throws in a rogue day and upsets the election. -
sweet teasounds good to me...hang on. -

christinaCarnivore, you have to tell me for the 3rd time what it is you order at Carniviento. Roast pork sandwich? Was that it? -

As far as food that's easy to eat in a bar, my favorites would be the pork chop sandwich, the fried shrimp sandwich and the alcapurrias. The Cuban and the pernil sandwich are also tasty. -
whyfiQ: What does Carny order at Gran Castillo?
A: Everything -

Truth. 8)
A: Everything -
christinaVery true, but indeed it was the park chop sandwich I needed to know about.
(I've had the mofongo there as well which was also good) -
whyfiThe pork chop sandwich is killer and it's been my go to since Carny brought it in to my life (I like to have them dash some hot sauce on it, too). One time, because of some miscommunication, they made me a double pork chop sandwich. It was great. -
christina"miscommunication". Right. -
carnivore"It's starting to look like a TRIPLE pork chop sandwich! WHOAAAA!"
