Best spot to meet single straight women?

I'm not sure if you can see me blushing, but believe me I am. For the record Playa and the rest of the Yucatan were great.

More importantly Brooklyn Potter and Flexichick are fantastic looking, witty, intelligent women, and I'm sure the same can be said of Carmen as well.

Speaking of decisions - go to yoga after a 4 week break and get my ass kicked in a super-hard class, or take a kick ass walk or bike ride instead?

Afterwards, I can park myself on a blanket in the park or in a cafe and see who notices

I am on record of pushing a DS happy hour for this tuesday. For some reason these things don't seem to go anywhere...I realize the DH ones may be different, but I haven't pulled one off.

PDC was cool. I'd recommend it, but were I travelling as a couple I would head somewhere less touristy next time, or at least stick myself more on the outskirts.

I actually stayed at the blue parrot 5th Avenue, the nightclub was a bit slow, but that that;s fine, I actually did most of my drinking at the chiller beachside places and at a locals joint named DJ's. DJ is like the Java Joe of our generation. And yes, met Java Joe. I wonder if Captain Toutix is the place we forgot to pay the bill at on my last night, where is that?

I never stopped working out when I was there which pretty much terrified most of the people I met. I feel like I'm in awesome shape and I lost about 5 pounds in 10 days to boot. Speaking of the Park, me and my pup are heading there in a bit if anyone is going to be around.

I'm surpried BP wasn't busy at night. CT is at the other end of the beach in PDC, before you cross over to Playacar.

I was traveling solo (I love solo vacations) and had a great time.

I've given up on yoga and am now betting on the park. Maybe I'll try to pick up my rental doggie.

That sounds like the right place, there were only a handful of beachside places and that was as close to the pier as was open the other night. It was about 30 minutes after we left that we realized we stiffed them for drinks, there was a storm going on, and my friend had to catch the last van thing.

But how could you give up on a yoga? I've completely associated you with it from your picture. I don't believe it.

I haven't given up, just was traveling and sick. I still have some crap lingering in my lungs, so I think it's wise to take it easy (or, easier) until it clears out. One thing they always teach you in yoga is "listen to your body".

A good walk in the park sounds like a smarter plan. Plus, I'll be social. Sort of.

I highly recommend a walk in the park, if you see the cutest brown and black mutt ever heading towards the farmer's market, that's me with her.

In MN, people often go to "the lake" to walk, run, lounge, etc. I always thought that it would be terrific to open a puppy rental at the more popular lakes - they'd be in such high demand from the singles population for use as icebreakers!

My straight, single girlfriends frequent neighborhood bars and cafes, including, Tea Lounge on Union Street, Barbes on 9th Street between 7th and 6th Avenue, Patio on 5th Avenue, Bar 4 on 7th Avenue. Cultural venues include, BAM Rose Cinemas, the Brooklyn Museum during its "First Saturdays," and Central Library at Grand Army Plaza when it hosts author talks, and Prospect Park. However, if you've got no taste for books, films, the bar scene or Tea Lounge, you're just as likely to bump into a single babe at the laundromatt next door. Oh, and plenty of girls cram into Loom Boutique on 7th Avenue for window shopping any day of the week. How can you tell two straight girls walking down the street from a lesbian couple? I met the same people, ugh. Actually no one really bothers with me in the park, but there were a couple of nightmare little bits in JackRabbit who were chasing Kinka around. Of course, the father could only say, "I try to tell them not to do that..."

i need to go to the park. perhaps tomorrow will be my day of going to barnes and nobles, buying a new book and sitting in the park all day. it cant hurt, eh?


are you allowed to drink in the park? as in, if I wanted to bring a bottle of wine and a plastic cup could I do so? I know glass is usually a no no but it would be out of site/out of mind...

and also- does drinking a bottle of wine alone in the park make me an alcoholic? what if I have a really cheesy, teary-eyed chick-book?

if you put the wine in another container that doesn't say "wine" on it, you should be ok.

I don't think drinking wine out of another container makes you an alcoholic - I think it makes you creative.

But I mean, its not like nationality even matters. so many countries are importing people and giving them citizenship just to play on the teams that it really has nothing to do with where you're from anymore.
