    Let's list possibilities:

    a. Aliens

    b. transformer vs tree

    c. ??

P.S. Carrol Gardens reportedly lost power

Also, reports are that a tree branch hit a jogger in prospect park and s/he is in hospital. Gotta love NYers!

I think it was a or c. The lights have flickered here a few times and it's flickering a lot up in Harlem/Morningside Heights I hear.

OK. Here's a question for everyone's consideration: for those who sent in their absentee ballots and whose mailings were swept away in mail boxes thanks to all that flooding, how do you know your votes will be counted now?

So who lost their power or internet here? (I guess if you lost it you wouldn't be posting :-/ )

Surprisingly I still have my Verizon internet, but I heard people on TimeWarner got screwed.

My cablevision internet went out for a hot second, but otherwise it's been fine. Our lights were flickering a bit, but that's it. (Crown Heights)

YAY! the internets as well as my power remained on for the duration of the storm. I have Verizon, and I live well above Sunset Park.

I would be VERY worried and actually call the election boards.

I know I moved way back in April and submitted my address change over the summer, yet when I called and inquired as to why I didn't get my new changed address registration form, they informed my that I am still registered at my old polling place. Huzzah! NY State crappy bureaucracy at it's finest. If you've had to take any licensing exam recently, you will be very aware of how utterly incompetent, NY state paper pushers are. Try to see if you can claim your ballot as lost and do a provisional one.

Same here. As a result of not working in Manhattan, I may even be able to get to work at some point this week.

    (for better or worse)
