Glad to see it got some face time.

The end of that news story says

"Neighbors told Eyewitness News they saw her walking away from her apartment yesterday afternoon," meaning the day her body was found.

So this *did* happen in daylight? I can't believe no one saw or heard anything.

Nor can I! And honestly that really scares me! Someone saw something there is no other possibility that makes sense given the time of day.

One of the reports stated they thought they were responding to a heart attack, which makes me think this was not a bloody, gory type of stabbing, but one that involves internal bleeding.

If this was the case, one could have seen something and not realized it, and the woman could have not realized how injured she was.

I say this because several years ago I worked with a family whose teenager was stabbed with an awl (which is like an ice pick) a few times at a party. He was intoxicated, came home, went to bed, and bled to death internally.

His mom found him in bed the next day, and found only a small mark of blood on his tshirt. To some degree, those who loved him will suffer for rest of their lives. If my memory is correct, the stabber was convicted of manslaughter.

But for the deceased, it seemed like it was relatively painless.

Has anyone heard any new details about this case? Was it a robbery? Domestic violence? Drug related? Has the victim been identified yet? Why hasn't there been more news about this??

The victim has been identified, but the police don't seem to have released her name (which may mean they haven't been able to reach next of kin yet). I haven't seen any additional coverage other than what has been linked to above. As to why we haven't seen more of it, my guess is because she is either black or hispanic and the stabbing death of a middle-aged black woman in broad daylight in what is still considered "the hood" isn't multi-day news.

    I agree with Homeowner's analysis.

In part, because I remember all the coverage that Amy Watkins received, when she was fatally stabbed in nearby Prospect Heights. Anyone up for a trip back to 1999?

Has anyone seen any additional news coverage about this case? Have the police released any additional information?

The news is unlikely to cover this story, because so much time has elapsed.

...the Community Affairs officer at the 77th pct might be willing/able to share any updates they have.
