768 Franklin Avenue (presently Brooklyn Ink Spot) would like to become a bar

An entity known as Drink would like to make 768 Franklin Avenue (located between St. John’s and Lincoln) a bar with a full liquor lic.

There's apparently a garden space in the back they would like to use as part of their plan.

This venue would be right next to Dutch Boy burgers.

Isn't that tattoo shop still open?

Yes, I believe the tattoo place is currently open. I'll change "fka" to "presently".

The prospective bar operators may be seeing if they can get the support of CB8 before they take over the lease.

...and (as has been the case in the past) the present employees of the business may learn that their jobs are ending from a post on Brooklynian.

Right next door to Franklin Park, a bar, and Bruekluyluereyln, which serves wine and beer, doesn't it? But maybe they're planning something different, like a Weather Up style cocktail bar.

They ended up not being on the agenda for tonight.

I believe that means they requested to be on the agenda several weeks ago, and then answered "nope" when CB8 called them earlier this week to confirm if they were actually ready to present.

They have stated they will appear on Oct 6th.

They appeared. They will sit 28 people inside, and there is a backyard for 25 more.

He will provide a lounge, quiet space atmosphere.

They will close at 1AM on Sun - Wed and at 3 AM on Thur, Fri and Sat nights.

Backyard will closes at 10 and 11 PM.

This section of Franklin will now have several bars.

What's happenig to the tattoo shop? Good guys who do good work...

...for those that are not satisfied with Franklin's present offerings. 

I haven't had a chance to really look inside, but it looks like there is a "Tattoo" sign hanging up in what used to be Bella Greens/some thrift shop recently. Maybe the thrift shop is out and Tattoo place back in. Wasn't it originally a tattoo place before Bella Greens? I might be mistaken but I think it is the same person who owns/owned Bella Greens/thrift shop, tattoo shop and Brooklyn Fit Lab.

It was Brooklyn Ink Spots's original space. Seemed like a good size for their output. I got my tattoo there at the same time as another client while 2 other people worked with an artist all in that space. I just don't think they are doing more clients at once than that. Especially for the rents.

The bar owners have been very busy in this space, and progress is evident.

Anyone been inside?

I walked by it over the weekend. My quick impression-- Seems a bit out of place among the other new businesses. The design is kind of classic, bling-y, "upscale", lounge. Chandeliers, patterned silver wallpaper...you'd look weird going in with flip flops and jeans. Very different from the "Brooklynesque" feel of other nearby businesses. Not my vibe at all, but I think/hope it'll be successful with the locals looking to dress up for a night out or date night. Definitely not for the hipster-ish crowd, but I'm happy there are new businesses that cater to various tastes and I wish them success.

The above makes it sound like a potentially nice alternative to all the "Brooklynesque" places when you want something that feels more cozy and 'upscale' versus hipsters in flip-flops guzzling beer. Tooker Alley is a bit like that I think, as is Weather Up and they seem to be doing fine.

Eh, not quite. Tooker Alley and Weather Up I would consider on the "high end" range of Brooklynesque. Drink is more like a glammed up lounge you might find in Midtown or a hotel in Times Square. Nothing rustic or old timey about it.

I may be incorrectly reconstructing my memory of my quick scan of the place trying to remember the details, so just walk by and check it out. Hopefully I'm not too off.

They have a Facebook page up. I was off with the color, but it was dimly lit. One of the reviewers describes it as "inviting, enticing, grown, and sexy".

Went there- it's nice and plush. I was dressed casually because I don't care, it's still Franklin Ave and I'm NOT dressing up for that shizzzzz. 

The real draw is the outside- it's really well done with teak wood and comfy pillows. Gorgeous and clean. Really pretty and probably quite romantic when it's dark.

Walked by, you're right, different than Tooker or weather up. Previously stated description is spot on. Not really a place to go with the guys

Awesome. Probably not the kind of place I'd frequent, but we need more places that aren't the blueprint Brooklyn hipster vibe. This neighborhood needs to be enjoyable for all types of folks, not just dudes like me who want to drink craft beer and slurp oysters.

I just want to know whether this place has Edison light bulbs and reclaimed wood.
