Where did you come from?

With all the gentrification talk I thought it might be interesting to put together a poll about where people came from before moving here. I'm mostly just curious.

I'll put out there that I grew up in another neghborhood in Brooklyn and moved to Prospect Heights 3 years ago.

I was thinking more of nationality - seems Brooklyn has it's fair share of ex-pats. I'm a Brit who's been here 10 years and plan on this being home for many more.

Off the subject, but on your tangent - I think that some of the recent debates have been heated because not all parties know how to debate... some have difficultly making their point, some don't bother to support their point with anything meaningful, some don't even try to make a point and their posts amount to nothing more than, 'you suck!' :roll: I firmly believe that most can deal with a difference of opinion, but frustration works it's way in when true discussion is made impossible or is completely avoided by one or more parties.

Not so sure about that; so far I've only managed to confirm that I'm not a Neilsen, Cat.

I think this is a great idea. People come from all over to NYC and you never stop to think about the past that person next to you on the 4 may have.

For being such a tiny town, I sure do meet a lot of people from Hot Springs who have moved here--it's starting to get a little eerie. Seems like an interesting town, from the stories I've heard.
