  • Yesterday, we were talking about St. John the Evangelist school and I remembered being on some kind of crossing duty at 21st Street and 6th Avenue. I don't think it would even be legal today to have grammar school kids responsible for helping younger children across the street. I know that no kids were killed on my watch......but can you imagine the liability in today's litgious environment ?
  • Hi Warren(Old Goat). Sorry for the confusion. It was my dear cousin Diane who lost her battle with cancer on Dec. 29th 2007. I still can't believe it. She was only 57. She had a son and daughter and 1 young grandson. She is sorely missed. Although our reunions were held at Lucille's house it was always organized by Diane. She would always think of new and funny themes and cover the fences with tons of old photos and posters. Ronnie is doing well . He had a triple bypass sometime back and was not doing that well, but seems to be okay now. He's adjusting to life without his sister.

I'm so glad you have such fond memories of Nana and Papa Brown. They were the strong foundation of our family and what keeps all of us still close today. I'll be sending your regards to my family. Hope all is well at your end. Great talking to you. Bye for now, Debbie.

  • LINDA JOY,

Yes, beer was a great price at $2, but I was ordering grey goose in a large glass with cranberry juice, so that was considered a double and rightfully so. Also, everytime I was at the bar, I became the waitress and friends kept saying, "order me this, order me that". So I dropped a few bucks but it was well worth it. I thought I would recoup some funds when I won the raffle, but my prize was $10. The lovaglia's won a bundle, but I won $10.................go frigging figure (lol).

    Love,
    Christina

p.s. I'll check for the pictures you sent.
