Four mice harvested last night!

I started the season on one mouse per night per trap. But now we're left with a smart one that's settled in for the duration, and no further action on the traps. There are now six traps out in different locations the mouse frequents (two old-fashioned snappers, two plastic safety snappers, two glue-traps). Tried a variety of delicacies -- cheese (cheddar), peanut butter (organic), salami (herbed but not too spicy), baby food (both chicken and vege), as well as purpose-formulated mouse-attractant.

Short of getting a mouser cat, any tips for dealing with SmartyMouse?

You need Stella Maria, the Mousey Hunter. She'll get that sucker (she's on the left in this pic). She'll also find it and bring it to you as a present....when you are sleeping...She will jump on your belly, make a bunch of noise and drop it on you, semi-alive...just to show her love

Mouse zapper with either PB or tomato stuff (bloody mary mix worked well for me) on the inside of the vent area. I've probably suggested this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating.

I got one at Pintchik and have seen them at numerous hardware stores around Brooklyn. Worked great for us. One night, I set it in the kitchen and went to brush my teeth. Went back to the kitchen after brushing and my return scared a mouse away from the entrance to the trap where another had just been zapped. Dumped the body, reset for the night, and had another in the morning. I got one almost as soon as resetting it every time.

My pb-loving dog seemed to leave it alone and it can be put all kinds of places you might not want a glue trap or snap trap, like on counters you use, in the stove, etc.

Well, not sure it's worth having to step inside a KFC in order to get some KFC... but I like the idea of adding electricity to this little skirmish. I'd add warfarin warfare too, if it weren't quite so likely to take out the baby.

Nowhere on Flatbush had the electric mouse zapper in stock today. Where to next? SmartyMouse must die. We're now sporting 10 traps.

I think it is worth it; mice are way better when they are fresh.

definitely the larb. i expect mice are rather gamy and would benefit from the counterpoint of strong flavors.
