You obviously have no life...or children. :pukel: You could save some money if you look really hard and find a nice apartment in a good part of Brooklyn instead of paying 100 grand for a 700 year old Brownstone dwelling (Brownstone? - More like a Rotten-Throught-Blackstone!) and use the difference to get a really nice car like i do.
Then you can drive to your crowded Manhattan anytime you want. Driving a Mercedes will change your whole perspective on life,lol, you would wanna have kids and do something with your life, and not just wasting it in bars and pubs.
You would suddenly realize that your world doesn't have to be confined around your block anymore and that it's much much bigger - THE EARTH IS ROUND FOR GOD'S SAKE ! :flower:

However, i have to admit that i had my brand new 2009 ML450 broken in two weeks after i moved into my apartment in Kensington - some black guy was breaking into people's cars and stealing MP3 players which people like me were leaving on their front seats. Thanx God he got caught! Besides that there were no incidents. So stop crying about safety in your hoods - i'm sick and tired of people complaining about safety in Brooklyn! If someone choses to partake of the City - along with all the different bars and restaurants why shouldn't they? Your 20's are just for that - exploring, learning and experiencing what the ENTIRE world has to offer. Not everyone's purpose in life is breed and spawn - and having observed some of the by-products, some of those same people that chose to have children should have been VERY actively discouraged from doing so.

I have lived in almost every area of Brooklyn - as well as parts of the midwest and Canada. I found the Hasidic neighborhood to be more isolated than the smallest farm town in Iowa - unless you are one of their own, you are not welcome. They prefer their isolation - so be it. There is nothing there to offer.

They are naturally cautious, that's all. They live in their community and that lifestyle is 5000 years old... compared to a liberal community which is...40 years old maybe? No one has accused the Orthodox of being evil - not even oppressive. If the females of the group chose (and I use that term loosely since a choice without a any options due to isolation or ignorance is not a choice) to forego the options available to women in modern society then so be it. If the group chooses to isolate themselves from modern society that is their election as well.

Denying access to knowledge via television, newspaper or other media simply enforces isolation and ignorance. 5000 years old... maybe progress is an alien concept and something to be shunned? Newsflash Vic - family is not just bloodlines. Although I am blessed to have close blood relatives IN Brooklyn as well as close friends that I have had since grade school, I do not see a family as defined simply in terms of marriage or birth. The elderly couple down the block with no living relatives are part of my "family" - and are frequently at my table for holidays and simple dinners.

No community (or FAMILY) can remain isolated or stagnant and survive. As seen in isolated villages within Europe, genetic defects became more and more pronounced and the offspring fall further and further behind - educationally, financially and just culturally.

Liberal communities have existed from the time someone first said - I don't agree, there must be something better.

American liberals come from all ethnic backgrounds - but in coming to American I think most people who were looking for a better life opted to adopted their new homeland zealously - encouraging a break with their past. They were proud to be Americans and adopt "American ways".
