Why not use battery operated lights? Besides no cord, you could also run a bunch of them down the center of your table or along your mantel.

Rave: About to get up and start cooking me some dinner. I dine alone now so I can eat whenever I want since my favorite x-BIL is out of the country.I miss him.

I'm gonna make some fried chicken using boneless chicken breastseses. Mmm,I got some hummas too AND the real pita bread-not that thick crap I usually get stuck with. Corn , baked cheddar potatoes , and stuffing.

That's a lot but I haven't eaten yet today so I'm wanting everything.

Mumm, Em, that sounds wonderful. I'm making a pot of beans to go with the baked chicken I have and then some salsa. But Your dinner sounds better!

Oh, that really sucks. A package for our upstairs neighbor came today and instead of ringing their bell (the address on the package) or ours, he just threw it over the gate under the stoop. My neighbor was home and apparently saw them leaving and came down to get it--she said it was really fragile. Ugh.

Yeah Opossum, I think it's because the rush of the holiday season and gifts being mailed. Grouchy fedex/ups guys are cutting corners and not doing their jobs well. This means I'm stuck home all day Monday to wait for delivery. Lame.

What did you get?

A pernil asado (roast pork, for it's the meat of kings) sandwich with hot sauce and a side of arroz con habichuelas (yellow rice and red/brown beans) and shared some maduros (fried sweet plantains) to top it off.

Paired with a late-vintage Dos Equis (or two...)

Rave: Rainy day! I'm crazy enough to actually put on my ipod and go for a nice stroll in it.

Rave: Yesterday, after the Fedex debacle I had called and told them the problem with the driver not bothering to ring the doorbell and going to the wrong door to boot. I didn't think it would make any difference, BUT TODAY they made a special saturday delivery and I got my new printer!! WHOO HOO!

Way to go FedEx, you actually care about customer service and fix your errors. 2 thumbs up! Not I'm off to play with my laser printer...
