Are you defending Joaquin? He goes on a TALK show and decides he doesn't want to say a thing at all. He should have just stayed home.

Letterman made the best out of a bad situation.

Plus, as many others are saying, this is nothing but an Andy Kaufman-esque move by Joaquin. His new image and "hip hop career" is nothing but a farce.

It's all part of a "mockumentry" he and Casey Affleck are filming. It's all a total fake.

Ok- so part of his job as an actor is to promote the movie he's in. It's contractual. He HAS to, doesn't have a choice. So, it looked to me that he was perfectly willing to do just that, not get made fun of right when he sat down, which is what happened. He wasn't saying anything, if you listen closely, because right away he gets asked a REALLY stupid question about his beard. Let's be honest- it was stupid and done to make fun of him. I'm sure he can take a joke like anyone else, but let's just say, I dunno, MAYBE he was having a shitty day. Maybe, just maybe, putting yourself in front of an idiotic studio audience who point and laugh at you was just something he was not in the mood to deal with. How many of us (some famous in our own minds) could deal with being laughed at on TV by hundreds of people, with millions watching along.

Still feel bad for him. And if it IS part of the mockumentary....then the guy's a fucking GENIUS.
