    18th.

I've never been a fan of democracy.
    I held a vote regardless.
One voter voted, as the Elections Chair, I hereby declare that this event will be held on Sat 7/18/09 at 1 PM in Sheepshead Bay.

Bring lots of sunscreen. You also may want to consider night fishing for bluefish.

Well, then I guess I'll need activities in addition to this one.

These events are getting more and more involved...

Next it will be 'let us go on a 3 month soul seeking excursion through the Andes'

Whynot won't be joining us in the Andes as he'll be used as bait on the fishing trip.

That's an excellent idea. Let's tell Ana it leaves tomorrow.

    P.S. Preliminary "involved agenda":
    12:00 get on bus.
    12:30 arrive at Sheepshead Bay.
    12:40 Find boat.
12:43 Pay $ and get on boat.
    12:55 Select rod and bait.
    1:00 Boat leaves
1:15 Vomit into ocean while watching Brooklyn disappear behind boat.
1:16 - 5 Get laughed at by fish while drinking beer.

    etc

Mods- the time has come where this should no longer be global and stickied.

...I'll bump it back up as the date approaches.

Would we get to eat the fish we catch? (The state says that infants and pregnant woman shouldn't eat fish from the harbor — and I feel like I'm kind of infantile. But if the boat goes into the Atlantic ...)

the boat will go the the Atlantic.

I'm not sure where Filet-o-fish comes from.

You can eat the fish, but only if it is a certain size. By law, smaller fish (don't remember how long) must be thrown back. So you may catch a bunch, but not be able to take any home.

I don't have my schedule yet for that weekend. If I'm not working, I'm in. And I'll be packing Zofran.

Absolutely. Everyone is welcome. The general plan is above. Watch this thread for details (it will evolve/devolve as the date gets closer)

...I predict a bunch of us will take the bus that goes right to Sheepshead bay.

Not that it's deciding- but what's the age gamut?
  • whynot_31
    whynot_31
    1. We are all incredibly attractive.
    2. Of the posters I have met, the age range is 21 - 45.
    3. You can always come to the bus stop, get on the bus, then get off the bus at the next stop without ever lettingg know we've been dis'd.

well since you put it like that-

whynot, I believe we've met. I believe I post. I believe I am between 21-45 the same way my mother has been 39 since 1960.

Otherwise your statement may well be accurate. But it matters not, since fishing holds about as much appeal for me as scrubbing my floors on hands and knees.

    Enjoy the vomiting!! :P

Aw, Booklaw, don't worry, you don't want to hang out with that douche whynot anyway. Let's you and me have a date with a fine bourbon and some snacks! Leave the smelly gross events to THOSE people.
  • whynot_31
    whynot_31
Booklaw, you are right: you are an outlier.

At 16, (I went to her birthday party) Scarlett's is an outlier as well, so the two of you should definately pair up. I'm told that if you consume enough bourbon you will get the same effect as a few hours in the Atlantic.
