Dude had lived with a "rescue lady" who had 19 dogs for about 9 mo.s before we got him. After she dropped him off, he laid in front of apartment door ...just looking at it, waiting for her to return for about 2 weeks.

...then he realized:
1. We were not evil.
2. We knew other dogs

...and started bonding.

The only time i've seen bruno's tail wag so far is when he's with other dogs (although he is obviously very happy to be with people) he was outside rolling around with a smallish terrier and holy hell, he was going INSANE. He's covered in mulch...good times.

Funders (government, foundations etc) put out a document that says:

"We need some agency to do this task, and this is how much we are willing to spend. Tell us how you would accomplish this task, and how you would allocate the funds we would give you."

(it takes the funders 200 pages to say the above)

...following this, some crazy person loses several weekends writing on behalf of the bidding/begging agency in exhange for one of the following:

1. Continued employment with their present employer. (sucks)

2. A fixed sum of money that is not related to whether the contract is awarded to the begging agency. (good)

3. A percentage of the contract award, but only if the contract is awarded
to the begging agency. (might suck, might be good).

The goal of the writer: Write for agencies that are only mildly hapless.

The goal of the agency: Find writers who have run programs similar to the ones the funder wants to fund, and know the latest BS proposal buzzwords.

nope, i got some Early Girl plants - they come up in 50 days....so, mid-June or so

and I got another type (can't remember right now) which yield tomatoes until frost.
