I believe it Bobby, she wears lots of cotton, I'll try the all-natural deodorant to the marino wool suggestion due to the cost thing. And she eats very natural.

Some people just have BO, some don't. I can ride my bike to work everyday and smell like daisies.

Or no one around you tells you that you smell more like what the daisies are growing in.

Here's a great angle. On some other messageboard this smelly ladyfriend is currently having the exact same conversation about MeredithB. The suggestions were "don't wash yourself and see how he reacts". Her girlfriends are in on this which is why they all smelled so bad in your car the other day.

Those weren't her GF's in the car. They were mine. One said something about a thyroid condition. The other claimed to have used an all-natural oil or some crap.

I'm going full out Musk from now on!!!

(Musk is the name originally given to a substance with a penetrating odor obtained from a gland of the male musk deer, which is situated between its stomach and genitals.)

You can get some good deals on merino wool clothes for all seasons at Steep and Cheap. Different item every 30 minutes. I've gotten some great deals there on IceBreakers tops.

I would hate for this to be resolved too quickly - this is one of the more entertaining threads on he board right now!

Well, I won't see her until Saturday night.

I think the best time for this discussion will be after a romp (in the Hey! What's that smell?)

You are banned from the BBQ unless you shower first and spill the beans (not literally) later. If you don't choke at night that is

MeredithB, buy your lady the shirt that's on steepandcheap right now! Did you read the first review??

Quote: "I have owned this shirt close to a year and have yet needed to wash it, I air it out on occasion but it really has not worked up any kind of bad smell. That is amazing."

    It's a miracle!

I think that's MeredithB's lady friend who posted that, Voodoo.

Missed it, dang! I'll have to pay attention. (of course, easier said than done while at work)

This has really become ridiculous. How would your lady friend feel knowing you discuss her smell in a public forum? How about instead of dressing your friend up, or telling her what you think she should put on her body, or telling a bunch of people on the internet about it, you simply tell her how you feel. If she doesn't want to hear suggestions, you can live with her smell. I think you took a wrong turn from the very start by having this discussion here.

    I don't think it's ridiculous, she probably wouldn't either.

I am going to talk to her when I see her on Saturday or do you think I should just call her up and say, "Hey baby, you know your pits have been causing me grief, so next time I see you make sure to wear a special scent."

why is someone suggesting merino wool in august?

cotton, linen, cashmere. natural fibers. and, of course, merino

Wool holds odors much less than the other fibers and there are plenty of merino clothes designed for warm weather, although most of it is athletic. I spend a fair amount of time with people who are very active and use these clothes and I appreciate it :)

merino doesn't feel as "cool" as cotton, and can be a little scratchy, but you get over that. cotton feels cool when you put it on, but the second you get a little sweaty you're swimming in your sweat all day.

if you can just accept that it's august and you're going to be hot unless you're shirtless, wool wins in the end because it breathes and wicks.

Wow. I can't wait to see the mayhem when you bring her to a Bklynian event. Everyone will be like, "Oh, that's the stinky girl." I would pay money to be present at that. You can have the nose all in the funky tuna-but can't tell her she has funky pits? C'mon! If I ever meet her, I'm totally telling! jk.

Ok, how about you draw her a sexy bath with some scrubs and oils. Bathe her (heck, even shave the pits if you need to) and then put deodorant on her. She'll think you're trying to seduce her. Then you can tell her how insatiable you are now because she just smells oh so good...Then she'll want to wear it all of the time.

Oh this makes all the difference:

Julia Roberts appearing in a segment about green alternatives to incorporate into you life, along with her friend Sophie Uliano, author of Gorgeously Green, Julia told how she feeds her kids organic foods and composts. Then the subject of skincare, lotion and deodorant came up. But does Julia wear the organic kind? Nope! She wears none at all. "I don't actually use deodorant. I don't like to share that with a lot of people. It's just never been my thing."

That is out there (I work for a company that produces a big gossip rag, so we're aware of this). She also only shaves her pits when she has to go to a big event, but even that she forgets sometimes.

Merry B-- I think you have too much power. Sweaty pits officially a meme.
