Hi Cuz,
Glad to see you are enjoying your vacation.
Hi Anna.
Hope all is well.
Warren where are you??
have a great night. -
Terry, I am right here. I mentioned the other day that we have had a ton of medical appointments this week. This morming I was at my Urologists office and was informed that my PSA was <0.1 which indicates no new cancer in my prostate. My Cytology report on my Urine shows no new Cancer cells in my bladder. That was all great news for us. Carol ate something in the last couple of days that did not agree with her and she has one of her IBS attacks going on. She has been doing very well for quite some time so we are hoping that this will be a quick "In and out" problem and she will feel good again. We are scheduled for dinner & a movie in our Clubhouse tomorrow so I hope she is up to it. Okay all. Have a good evening. We are watching a possible hurricane coming our way on Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully it will fall apart or move before then. :-s
-
OK Warren Just checking. lol
Hope she feels better and u go to the Clubhouse.
Any rain there in Florida yet???? -
GOOD NIGHT SWEET DREAMS
-
Terry, it has rained almost every afternoon for about two weeks. None of it was part of a Tropical Storm though. I emptied 4 1/2 inches from my rain gauge yesterday and that was one days worth. There was street flooding in St Pete and Tampa yesterday. Pretty typical for August in Florida! :-XX

HI FRIENDS

WARREN. HOPE CAROL IS FEELING BETTER BY NOW.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT HURRICANE.. HOPE IT PASSES YOU RIGHT BY!!!HI CUZ...YES, ENJOYING MY VACATION..WILL CALL YOU, SOON.

Had a great day.
Went with my friend Geri to her Zumba classes and taught with her.
We did 3 classes and had lunch on prospect park west at the French Restaurant. it used to be the old Regina Bakery on the corner of prospect avenue across from the church.
Hope all is well with everyone,
Still thinking of Fred and his Family.
Good night Sweet Dreams -
Good Morning Happy Saturday xoxoxo

Patsy & Terry, Thank you for your concerns. Carol is feeling somewhat better. We were able to go to the Movie and the Steak Dinner. They gave us so much steak that both of us brought enough home to have another meal. The Movie was called Journey 2. A little corny but not bad. It is something like Jurrasic Park. No bad language or sexy scenes. It was something different and that is what you need after spending two weeks in Doctors offices.Terry, if I tried Zumba I think it would be the end of me. I have seen demonstrations and am amazed at the energy and effort required.Patsy, enjoy what is left of your vacation. Squeeze out every last minute!!! The Tropical Storm named Isaac is still a mystery . One report shows it veering away from Tampa Bay and the next one has it brushing by or hitting us hard. Take your pick #-o Debbie, I have been complaining about that first item on the new page for quite a while. Most of the time you have to wait till the next day to see it :?:

GOOD NIGHT SWEET DREAMS
-
Hello All, Well here we are awaiting the arrival of something from Isaac. They have been moving the forcast further & further west of here and that is good news for us, bad for some other people. We will certainly get some wind and rain but if some of these projected tracks come true, then we will be okay!Believe it or not they are now talking about the center hitting New Orleans when it comes ashore. Those people have really suffered a great deal. The other place to stay away from is Haiti. That is a constant disaster area. They have not recovered from the earthquake they had and now storms are making their lives miserable. I was surprised this AM We went to Publix and it was not crowded at all. Plenty of water, milk & bread on the shelves. I guess people here are not too worried about the impact of Isaac. One of the biggest fears is losing electricity. Everything we have, A/C, Heat, ALL apliances including Hot Water & cooking stove are electric. We have plenty of water stocked up and we are making a lot of ice. We have food that can be eaten without cooking so we are pretty well prepared. Oh yeah, plenty of batteries for portable radio, TV, Flashlights etc:. We even have a small stove that runs on small propane bottles so we will not starve! :bounce:

Hello All, We made it through the night just fine. We are in a Tornado WATCH but all we have had overnight was a little rain (1 1/2 Inches) and some wind. Hopefully we have dodged another bullet!
Bobby, I wish I had a 10 dollar bill for every Saturday I spent in the Globe on 15th Street. If I was not there I was in the Avon or on a rare occasion the Prospect. The Sanders was even more rare. Do any of you remember the 16th Street Theater. We called it the itch because it was not very clean. The Minerva I believe was probably before any of your times. Of course once I went to work in the Palace Meat Market, that was the end of my Saturday Matinees. #-o

hi everyone, hope all is ok,old goat the globe, was are 2nd home on a saturday morning, you would be there all day,2 main features,2 or 3 short subjects, and 20 cartoons,my older brother would take me,and we would never pay at the globe,we knew the matrons, mrs longo worked there, the longos lived right on my block 19 street, and she would give me and my brother a big bag of popcorn, and some times, when i came out of school ps 146 on a friday afternoon,a guy would be standing outside giving out flyers for the globe,if you had the right color flyer usually{red}you would get in the globe for nothing, and i know you went to manual hs,i told you the story about the movie, black board jungle,in the movie the schools name was north manual hs,manual had a bad rep,so they changed the name to john jay hs,and if you get a chance a gym teacher at that time, vincent ricco.wrote about the neigborhood, called all the way down, its on line,i remember palace meat market, the 72nd precint was a 16st and 5th ave, acroos the street from the berkley clothes store, then the 72nd precint moved to 4th ave and around 29 street, the weren,t called police stations then, they were called police houses, and another little story, about the stering place, plane crash,my older brothers friend marty, was on the 7th ave bus, heading towards flatbush ave,he was sitting in the very rear of the bus, when he said he heard a roar, turns around and sees the plane coming right at the bus,he was on 10st and the plane flew right over the bus,he said seconds later,he heard a tremendous crash, things i remember 50 years later.wow i had to go deep for those memoirs.o.k. everyone take one day at a time and do the best ,you can bobby c

Globe Theater
Viewing: Photo | Street View
This Park Slope theater was a sub-run neighborhood house. What makes it noteworthy is that the author Pete Hamill mentions it in his autobiography, A Drinking Life, and fictionalizes it in his novel ‘Snow in August’.
